H-1 Air Maintenance Device


Globe's Model H-1 Air Pressure Maintenance Device is an automatic, field-adjustable device of the pressure reducing type. It is used to control the supervisory air pressure in a dry pipe sprinkler system, preaction system, or dry pilot line system of a dry pilot sprinkler actuated deluge or preaction valve. The H-1 is utilized in applications where there is a compressed air (or nitrogen) source which is at a higher pressure than the desired system pressure. Pressure sources include plant air supplies having their own automatic compressor controls, or nitrogen supplies having single stage cylinder mounted pressure regulators.

The State of California's Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 (Proposition 65) requires manufacturers and distributors to provide special warnings to consumers for products that contain certain chemicals. The list, which must be updated at least once a year, has grown to include approximately 900 chemicals. Examples of chemicals on the list: alcoholic beverages, lead, nickel, wood dust, and Diesel/gasoline engine exhaust. Model H-1– Air Pressure Maintenance Device: Where a field-adjustable, pressure reducing type air maintenance device is required to control the supervisory air pressure in dry pipe, preaction type, and dry-pilot lines of deluge systems they shall be specifically listed for such use. The air pressure maintenance device is utilized in applications where a higher air pressure service is available then what is required by the sprinkler system. The device shall be designed for a “quick-fill” per the requirements of NFPA; as well as a regulator and metering orifice to replace air pressure automatically into the sprinkler system to make-up for small naturally occurring air pressure loses. The air pressure maintenance device shall be UL listed or FM approved. Air Pressure Maintenance Device shall be Model H-1; as manufactured by Globe Fire Sprinkler Corporation.
