The Globe Fire Sprinkler Corporation PRV Flow Test Valve (FTV) is intended to be utilized downstream of pressure reducing control valves when present at multi-story building floor control assemblies. NFPA 25 requires PRV floor control valves to undergo a full system demand flow test every 5 years. This test is to validate proper outlet pressure settings of the PRV floor control valve. The FTV may also be utilized to validate appropriate outlet pressure setting of a PRV during initial install. The FTV is available in 1-1/2” grooved inlet or 2-1/2” grooved inlet x 2-1/2” National Hose Thread outlet. A cap and chain is also included for the hose outlet. The Globe FTV eliminates the need to use multiple fittings and standard hose valves for testing of the PRV’s.
PRV Flow Test Valve | Model FTV
Model FTV – PRV Flow Test Valve: Where a testing valve is required downstream of a pressure reducing valve in order to test the flow through the PRV; per the requirements of NFPA, a specifically manufactured valve for this purpose shall be used. Flow test valve shall have a grooved inlet and 2-1/2” Hose Thread outlet equipped with cap and chain. A single body flow test valve shall be of brass body construction, contain a Teflon seat, and be factory tested to 300 psi. PRV flow test valve shall be the Model FTV; as manufactured by Globe Fire Sprinkler Corporation.
